Instructions for MPI jobs

This section provides information on how to submit MPI jobs to the Grid. It is currently under constuction.

MPI jobs are currently supported by various Italian regional Grids specialized about support of HPC applications.

  • This page provies information for users to submit MPI jobs to the PI2S2 Grid.
  • How to compile and run a simple MPI (Message Passing Interface) job on the grid

Job submission

  •  A tutorial on how to submit simple jobs. Jobs are described using simple text files in JDL (Job Description Language) format. Job Submission Tutorial [PDF]

    LCG Documentation

LCG configuration now supports tools to install grid application software remotely via a simple job. To do this, you must be a "software manager" of your VO, i.e. a person responsible of the application installation and validation in the grid sites.

Relational databases: GRelC

The GRelC DAS is a GSI enabled Web Service, developed within the Grid Relational Catalog Project (GRelC), aiming at providing a transparent, efficient and secure access to databases on the Grid. It is developed by the GRelC Team (University of Salento, Lecce & SPACI Consortium).

SPACI-LECCE team is currently testing within the EGEE SA1 Activity context, the GRelC Data Access Service both on gLite 3.x (for IA32 platform) and on LCG-2-7-0 (for IA64 platform).

GRelC DAS allows users accessing and interacting with heterogeneous DBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, DB2, SQLite, Microsoft SQL Server, etc), providing an uniform access interface to data sources.

The GRelC middleware is widely used within the SPACI and SEPAC Production Grids to support bioinformatics experiments as well as EOS applications; GRelC DAS client and server are also deployed on the GILDA t-infrastructure and a

related user tutorial is also available on the Grid CT Wiki.

Additional details, documentation, download section, deployment map, etc. are available clicking here.
